Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery
Springfield Manor is the first licensed distillery in Frederick County. As an artisan craft distiller, we produce a unique line of fine spirits which are available for tastings, as well as for bottle sales. Our product line includes lavender gin, rum, corn whiskey, fruit brandies & grappa. Our Maryland Rye is in barrel for a first release early summer. We are currently distilling & barreling bourbon as well. Our whiskeys are crafted from corn grown on our own farm, our lavender gin utilizes lavender from our lavender field, our grappa is produced from our red wine grape skins and our fruit brandies are distilled from locally harvested orchard fruits.
Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery is a family owned and operated Frederick County farm conveniently located on Route 15. We offers event facilities as well as overnight accommodations. The distillery & tasting rooms are located in a stylishly renovated bank barn which seats up to 150 guests. Our ballroom seats up to 300 guests and the outdoor terraces offer unsurpassed views of the Catoctin Mountains. Our German engineered Bavarian Holstein still is constructed to the highest industry standards. It is a superior example of both art and excellence. Shipped directly from Germany, it traveled into the Port of Baltimore. The distillery walls are constructed from the actual shipping crate that the still arrived in. Springhill Distillery
After home brewing beer, we ventured into making corn whiskey. After enjoying the process and receiving great feedback on our product, we decided in 2017 to look into distilling to sell. We are inspired and honored to make a great product for the hard working people of the Eastern Shore and beyond. We are the first spirits distillery in Wicomico County.
We produce small batches of corn whiskey, both traditional and flavored whiskey.
Tenth Ward Distilling Company
Tenth Ward Distilling Company is a small distillery, locally owned by Monica Pearce (the boss lady) in downtown Frederick, MD. Our products primarily consist of whiskey and barrel aged brandy, but with a twist. We pride ourselves on testing the traditional style of distillation while making a quality, delicious product in the most unusual but sustainable means necessary.
About the Tenth Ward
The name “Tenth Ward” is derived from a period of time (late 19th Century) when Frederick was sectored off into 10 wards. Our original location at 508 E Church St in Frederick, MD was part of what used to be considered the Tenth Ward. For you history buffs and lovers of everything Frederick out there, you might find it interesting to know that the city of Frederick intentionally built this sector on the east side of town to be the primary location for industry. The reason for this is that the wind in Frederick tends to blow East and our thoughtful city founders figured they could spare their growing town from those offensive industrial smells.
Tobacco Barn Distillery
There’s a crispness in the air. The leaves are turning vibrant colors of red, brown, and yellow. And if you listen closely, you will hear a sound that hasn’t been heard here for almost one hundred years.
Did you hear it yet? You will. And that sound will start as just a single solitary drop.
When that first drop falls, we will have brought the legal distilling of whiskey, bourbon, and rum back to Southern Maryland.
