Sagamore Spirit President Brian Treacy has gleaned a lot of takeaways since the whiskey company opened its 22,000-square-foot production facility and tasting room at Port Covington last year. The biggest one, he said recently, is the power of word-of-mouth.
Since the distillery opened its doors last April 20, it has settled in to the No. 2 spot on TripAdvisor’s list of things to do in Baltimore, a ranking based on visitor reviews.
“We’re shocked from how powerful the word of mouth is,” Treacy said. “In the beginning, we wanted to perfect the tour a little bit so we didn’t push too much on the advertising. Now, we’re starting to pick up a lot of traction online…” Click here to continue reading on bizjournals.com
